Hey There!

My name is Josh Loock, and welcome to my site! I am a photographer based in Washington D.C. I graduated the University of Maryland in College Park, with a double degree in Broadcast Journalism and Film Studies. I began learning photography in a wet darkroom nearly 10 years ago and have gone on to create compelling photojournalism for The Diamondback Newspaper, Captured photo stories in Oaxaca, Mexico, produced short films in London, England. I interned at NPR in Washington, D.C. as a photography editor on the science desk. Since then, I’ve been working as a full time video editor and occasional freelance shooter.

This site will function as an updated portfolio of my work, as well as whatever I'm working on at the moment. I am still a lover of all things analog, and you'll find some of my film photography in the top bar on the page. You can also see work I've shot for various publications, as well as videos I've produced either on my own, or with a group (as is the case with the Viewfinder Opioid Epidemic Project)

For all photo-related inquiries, or if you're just trying to get in touch, please don't hesitate to reach out. I can be contacted via email at joshloock24@gmail.com, or through the contact feature on this website.

All the best,

Josh
